Monte Cristo, who are best known by the 'SIM' community for creating City Life and Cities XL, is closing down.
Former Cities XL community manager, Gregory, reveals on SimTropolis that development on Cities XL 2011 is complete. CXL2011 will be sold by an unnamed publisher.

| Cities XL finally to become the 'next' city builder?
Monte Cristo has announced that the Cities XL Planet Offer has been discontinued and also revealed that a new edition of the game titled Cities XL 2011 is to follow.
The 2011 edition will be offline only with previously online-only content available to all players. It is unknown whether players will be required to purchase an upgrade from the original Planet Offer version.
